MLM Genealogy Leads - A Helpful Resource In Setting Up Your Network Marketing Business

MLM genealogy leads can be quite a valuable tool in building your network marketing company, especially if you're an experienced online marketer. But, as with anything else, there are both positives and negatives to using them. In this article, we'll examine the issues surrounding MLM genealogy lists.
First Of All, The Good...
I often consult with mlm business owners that are new to the business. More often than not, they've been advised by their upline to make a list of friends, family, and colleagues to approach about their opportunity.
This is not the best advice.
If you're selling sports cars, the perfect prospect is someone who has purchased a sports car lately... that may or may not include your friends, family members, and acquaintances.
Sponsoring someone into your MLM prospect is no different. Ideally, you want t speak with individuals who have joined a network marketing opportunity recently. These are called "opportunity buyers," and that's exactly what MLM genealogy leads are.
Thus, if you're thinking about buying MLM genealogy leads, you're on the right path.
The Bad...
Regrettably, it's not always that simple.
MLM genealogy leads are often years of age, having been pulled from the back office of companies that are no longer in operation. This translates into a lot of bad numbers and people screaming, "John doesn't stay here anymore... Stop calling me!"
In addition, there's a great chance that the list has been sold many times. It's likely that, your "fresh MLM genealogy lead" has been contacted many times before you actually bought their information.
Another issue is customers. A lot of companies place both customers and distributors in the same report, and simply because someone purchased a product doesn't imply they'll be thinking about joining an opportunity. Yet more of your time is wasted.
The Ugly...
Lastly, there's one vitally important thing to consider. Every name on the list that you purchased there for one reason and one reason only: they joined, or bought product from, a MLM.
Not one of them called for their name to be put there, nor did they ask to be solicited by you.
This affects you in two ways:
1) Lawfully, you have to be careful in the way you initiate contact. Since you don't have their permission, and their telephone number might be on the do not call list, you can't use something like voice broadcasting... and also you have to be careful with e-mail.
You can contact them one by one, but that's not very efficient...
Direct mail is most likely most secure, but a few MLM genealogy leads actually come with address data. Many include name, phone, and e-mail if you're fortuitous.
2) It takes more skill to be successful with these leads. If you're going to attend the phone and call them harsh, you better know exactly what you're going to say and be positive in your delivery.
If not--if they smell fear--you'll be eaten alive!
So there you have it! The good, the bad, as well as the ugly on MLM genealogy leads.
You are right to be targeting opportunity purchasers, but don't forget that most MLM genealogy lists are old, obsolete and full of bad data. You'll need to be careful how you reach out to them, and when you do actually reach the individual whose name is on your list you'll need to handle the conversation with care.
